When a little retail therapy is what you need, plan a visit to Oakville Place. Conveniently located at 240 Leighland Ave., just minutes from the community of Oakvillage, the mall has everything you need to dress up your new townhome and the family that will be calling it home.

Opened in 1981 the mall underwent major renovations in 2004, with more to commence this summer. The mall is the biggest in town, open seven days a week and boasting about 100 shops, services and eateries.

Oakville Place is anchored by Sears and Hudson’s Bay and features stores you love from clothing and leather goods at Roots to cool shades at Sunglass Hut and active gear at Sport Chek. With children’s shops like H&M Kids, Gymboree and The Children’s Place you can outfit the whole family in one trip.

The mall also features a variety of health, wellness and beauty services: a dental office, a drug store, optometry services and a salon, among others. It’s a one-stop shop where you can address so many of your daily needs.

All that shopping activity is bound to make your stomach growl and your legs steer you towards the food court. We like to visit Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill, especially for the fantastic weekend brunch menu (Belgian waffles, anyone?), which features a special kids’ menu.

From mid-June to mid-October, the Oakville Farmer’s Market sets up shop outside the mall on Thursdays and Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick up some great local produce, cheese and meat, or grab a prepared food item and save yourself the trouble of cooking dinner!
